Peddapalli: ‘Maha Haritha Haram’ plantation programme was organised at all anganwadi centres in Peddapalli on Monday to make the third phase of Haritha Haram a grand success.

District in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy, along with Mula Vijaya Reddy, the Regional Organiser of Women and Child Welfare Department, had participated in Maha Haritha Haram drive and planted the saplings on the premises of anganwadi centre at Tenuguwada in Peddpalli.

Speaking on the occasion, the in-charge Collector said that Maha Haritha Haram programme was launched to plant saplings in about 1,771 anganwadi centres present across the district.

Ecological balance will be maintained along with enriching the environment by making the plantation programme successful and everyone must play key role in protecting environment by participating actively in Haritha Haram, he suggested.

Each member of a family should plant a sapling of their like and also must protect the sapling by arranging a tree guard and by watering it regularly, he said.

Later the in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy along with the Regional Organiser M Vijaya Reddy distributed saplings to anganwadi teachers. District Welfare Officer Padmavathi and anganwadi teachers were present along with the local people.
