Boath (Adilabad): In a joint operation, the police and forest department staff on Friday morning confiscated illegally stored teak timber worth Rs 5 lakh at Gundala village in Ichhoda mandal. The police has handed over the seized timber to the forest department.

Ichhoda forest officer Mohan told The Hans India that the department would not tolerate illegal transportation of teak wood. He said action as per law would be taken against those involved in such activities. He added that department checks were being taken up to check the menace. Mohan said those, who had attacked the department vehicles and check-posts in the recent past, have been arrested and sent to remand.
