The Warangal Police Commissionerate, which clinched Haritha Mitra award by planting 10 lakh saplings last year, has created a record of sorts by planting highest number of saplings in the third and ongoing phase - III of Telanganaku Haritha Haram (THH), a flagship programme of the State government. In all, the Commissionerate Police has planted a whopping 41 lakh saplings this year.

Hanamkonda: The Warangal Police Commissionerate, which clinched Haritha Mitra award by planting 10 lakh saplings last year, has created a record of sorts by planting highest number of saplings in the third and ongoing phase - III of Telanganaku Haritha Haram (THH), a flagship programme of the State government. In all, the Commissionerate Police has planted a whopping 41 lakh saplings this year.

This is said to be the highest by number achieved by any government department in the State. Planting the 41,00,000th sapling on the premises of Police Headquarters here on Monday, the Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu said: ''The credit goes to the entire staff, who took the programme on a mission mode and made it possible.

By doing this, the police department has proved that beyond their primary duty of ensuring law and order, they can contribute much more to the society.'' East zone DCP Venkateshwarlu, Narsampet ACP Sunitha Mohan, Crime ACP Pooja and Mamnoor ACP Sobhan Kumar were among others present.
