Education department gearing up for science exhibition

Hanamkonda: The district educational department is gearing for the Telangana State-level Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (JNNSMEE)-2017 to be held in Warangal this month.

The science exhibition is scheduled to be held at Telangana State Social Welfare Residential School (Boys) at Madikonda near Kazipet from December 21 to 23. It is the first State-level science fair being conducted after formation of Telangana.

Speaking to presspersons in Hanamkonda on Monday, State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) director B Seshu Kumari said 13 exhibits of which six each by higher primary and high school students and one by teacher will be displayed at the exhibition.

Exhibits from 31 districts will be on display. The students and experts from NIT Warangal and Kakatiya University will also display their exhibits. Nearly 500 exhibits, 1000 students and 500 guide teachers will participate in the State-level event, which is expected to be visited by 10,000 students and enthusiasts.
