Women’s Day fete at NTPC-Ramagundam

Ramagundam: International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at NTPC-Ramagundam on Thursday. The theme for this year celebration was “Time is Now : Rural and Urban Activists Transforming Women's Lives.” The celebration started with a walkathon during the morning hours at the township wherein ladies club members participated in large numbers. Deepthi Mahila Saamithi Incharge president Geeta Prasad flagged off the morning walk. 

Later, a special health camp was organised at New Moghal Pahad wherein NTPC doctors team comprising CMO Dr Sahmita Dash, Dr Madhulika Banerjee, Dr Mamta B Kumbhare, Dr Archana Jamwal and other medical staff treated 85 patients and presented medicine free of cost. 

In an another programme held at EDC in association with Dhanwanthari Hospital, Chief Guest Apoorva Rao, ACP delivered a lecture. GM (Project) M N Prasad, CMO Dr Sahmita Dash, Incharge President of Deepthi Mahila Saamithi Geeta Prasad, local corporator, Head of HR M S Ramesh, office bearers and members from ladies club, NTPC women employees and township women participated in large numbers. 

Befitting the occasion, Jyothika Club organised many events like tennikoit, throwball, shuttle and essay writing for women. In the evening, a lecture by M Aruna, Principal Junior Civil Judge was also planned at the club.
