It looks like the heir-apparents have to wait as the TRS chief KCR is planning to field the old war horses in the polls
Warangal: The heir-apparents, who wanted to test their luck at the hustings with their elders still at the peak of political career, have to wait for some more time with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Chief K Chandrashekar Rao reposing his faith in retaining the old war horses for the ensuing elections.
Dashed hopes of heir-apparents!
In fact, the double ticket row allegedly cost Konda family dearly with the party not even retaining Konda Surekha to field again from Warangal East.
Konda couple has a strong inclination to get their heir Sushmitha make political arangetram (debut) either from Bhupalpally or from Parkal.
Even though Bhupalpally was represented by Speaker Sirikonda Madhusudhana Chary, the Konda couple has been preparing ground for their daughter’s entry for over one year. It’s said that Kondas have a reasonable hold in Bhupalpally and Parkal constituencies. It’s reported that Kondas are bound to join the Congress in a few days and it remains to be seen whether they would be able to get two tickets.
For some time, it’s been heard that Dr Kadiyam Kavya is a certainty to make her debut in the next elections. In fact, she was also among the probables for the Warangal Lok Sabha seat in the 2015 by-poll. However, the ticket went to Pasunuri Dayakar, who eventually won the seat with a record margin. She has been actively participating in social service besides helping her father. Although, Kavya pinned her hopes on Station Ghanpur or Wardhannapet, both SC reserved constituencies, the party retained both the sitting MLAs- Thatikonda Rajaiah and Aroori Ramesh.
On the other Prahlad, who has been assisting his father Azmeera Chandulal for some time, also got disappointed after he failed to get ticket from Mulug constituency, it’s learnt. In fact, there have been murmurs that Prahlad is behaving like the de facto minister as Chandulal is not fully fit physically.
The instance of former MLA Maloth Kavitha, daughter of DS Radya Naik, who joined TRS from Congress and has been aspiring to contest from Mahabubabad Assembly seat, is different. With the talk that KCR is unhappy with the sitting MLA Banoth Shankar Naik, who allegedly involved in a few controversies, Kavitha had hoped for the ticket. But it wasn’t to be. On the other hand, the party retained her father Redya Naik, who represented Dornakal constituency.
It was also speculated that one of Speaker Madhusudhana Chary’s three sons would replace in lieu of their father from Bhupalpally, but it wasn’t to be.
The double ticket trouble is also haunting Pradeep Rao, brother of Palakurthy sitting MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao, it seems. Pradeep has been in the race for Warangal East ticket.
Speaking to The Hans India, a senior TRS leader said: "Still a long way to go before the party gives B-Forms and why not there would be a change in the candidates. Still there is a chance for these heir-apparents." He was referring to the chaos in TRS cadres in Station Ghanpur constituency and Mulug, opposing the candidatures of sitting MLAs.
