Actor-turned-author Soha Ali Khan Pataudirecently authored an autobiographical book named ‘The Perils of Being Moderately Famous’ that has been quite successful. “The response from the readers has been really good and it has become a bestseller quite soon, which was exciting for me and I also won the Best Book on Cinema. Talking about what made her write the book she says, “I have always wanted to write. I enjoy writing. It was important for me to document a part of my family’s history. I wanted it to be light in terms of being humorous to read and I wanted to dedicate it to my daughter because there are many people in my family, but she would never meet someone like my father. There are so many stories that I will probably forget them in time and so I wrote this book.”

“I think I would love writing another book but there is no time. A book requires time and commitment, and I am much disorganised right now,” states the young mother. According to her, she is bad on managing work life balance, “I manage it very badly. I end up prioritising Inaaya(her daughter) above everything else and that is my personal flaw, but I am learning to step back and embrace other things.”

On the fame and glamour attached to film industry, she stresses, “I do not take fame seriously. I think that there is something very valuable of being in a place of moderateness. You still get a little bit of anonymity, which I think is very precious and people, who are really famous do not have that. I do not get offended. I have a very realistic outlook on life and myself.”

From acting to writting and now  being mother motherhood, she says, “Motherhood is one of the biggest challenges in life, but also one of the incredibly rewarding experiences in life.”
