The Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) conducts Chartered Accountant Common Proficiency Test, commonly known as CA CPT Exam, which is a gateway to get into the profession of Chartered Accountancy (CA).The exam is conducted twice a year, in the months of June and December.

It is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course. It is a test of four subjects i.e., Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. This test is of 200 marks. This test is divided into two sessions of two hours each with a break in between.

It is an objective type test with negative marking for each wrong answer. The exam is of 200 marks wherein, the exam is divided into two sessions of two hours each with a break in between.Preparation for CPT essentially depends on 3Rs- Read regularly, Review daily, and Repetition.
