The students of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad had come into the festive mood well in advance as the school celebrated the commencement of Dusehra. The event portrayed the significance of celebrating such festivals and brought out the various ways of celebrating Dusehra in different states of India.

Hyderabad: The students of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad had come into the festive mood well in advance as the school celebrated the commencement of Dusehra. The event portrayed the significance of celebrating such festivals and brought out the various ways of celebrating Dusehra in different states of India.

The show started with a sloka on Lord Ganesha, seeking his blessings to overcome hurdles. This was continued by a group dance the ‘Bathukamma’ dance the state dance of Telangana. Children also performed the Dandiya Dance representing the state of Gujarat, where Navaratri is a popular festival.

The school choir presented songs on Goddess Parvathi and added sweetness to the programme. Lastly, there was a small presentation on Nava Shakthi personified as Goddess Durga to show how SHE destroyed the evil and saved Dharma. It was very clear from the presentation that truth and Dharma always triumph. The celebrations came to an end with the blessings of God.
