DPS celebrates one year of Varnalepana gallery

Hyderabad: It was a festivity of a different kind in the Nacharam campus of the premier educational institution Delhi Public School (DPS). Celebrating the feather that adorned its cap last year, Thursday marked a celebration of the first year completion of its visionary tribute to the world of art-Varnalepana - The Art Gallery.
The institute has already won plaudits for being among the first in the capital of Telangana State to have an art gallery within the school premises. It was a day-long celebration with 30 artistes, both amateurs and professionals, participating with enthusiasm in the camp for parents
The inauguration was graced by Dr T Sudha Academic Director, DPS, T Sunitha Rao, Principal DPS, Uttam Kumar, animation artist and Sanjay Raya while the valedictory saw the presence of S Vani Devi, Principal Arts College. ‘Varnalepana’ is an aesthetic arcade and provide space to artists to unleash their creative imaginings through exhibitions. The ambience is certain to inspire the school students to pursue fine arts and become artists.
Speakers and faculty saluted the pioneering efforts of M Komaraiah, Chairman of Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills, Nadergul and Nacharam. He was appreciated for being a connoisseur and patron of art in all its myriad form. The management is hopeful that Varnalepana will emerge as a major art hub in the not too distant future.
