DPS celebrates Crystal & Investiture Ceremony 2018-19

Celebrations galore marked the June 23 at Delhi Public School- Mahendra hills as achieved yet another milestone that is the completion of 15 years of glorious legacy, the marvellous ways in which the school has fulfilled its mission in imparting education, moral and spiritual values, and discipline to help build global leaders of tomorrow. 

It was double celebration for Delhi Public School- Mahendra Hills as it celebrated its Crystal anniversary on this day along with the Investiture ceremony where-in the newly elected members of the prefect council were vested with their responsibilities and were conferred upon with badges for the academic session, 2018-20.

They believe in moulding and channelising our learners to become great leaders. The Prefect council was elected through a very rigorous and fool –proof process of e-voting. The ambience was electrifying as the nominated members campaigned with promises and commitments to keep up the pride of the school. The final council was elected after passing through various levels of elocution, interview and debate.  The grand festivities included a plethora of exciting events spread over the day. The ceremony was a grand affair. 

The programme flagged off with the welcoming of Chief guest, Brigadier S.Chakravarthy Kumar. Our chairman- Komariah sir was also present to grace the occasion. The Guard of honour was presented, and the school flag was unfurled amidst the echoing sound of the school song. The program proceeded with a mesmerising invocation dance –Thillana Tharangam in a beautiful amalgamation of classical dance forms. The audience present also had the opportunity to witness a very crisp and smart March Past led by the Head Boy, the Head Girl and other office bearers. The March Past was followed by all the four houses marching ahead with confidence. The ceremony progressed with pipping of the badges to the office bearers and administering of oath to them by the Chief Guest. 

It was followed by an amazing documentary which presented the remarkable journey our school traversed from its inception in the year 2003 till date. Up next was a wonderful presentation based on the Michael Jackson classic ‘Heal the world’. The school choir rendered a beautiful song penned by our music teacher, Mr Edward titled ‘Khwab sa umang’ which mesmerised the audience present. ‘Believe in yourself’ a delightful dance presentation was the highlight of the show, which also received an echoing round of applause. 

It was also a time to felicitate the people who had shown great faith in DPS Mahendra Hills at its nascent stages and worked with complete sincerity and dedication to take the school to greater heights. The alumni of teachers and students were presented with momentos to recognise their efforts.  In his speech, The Chief Guest stressed upon the role of discipline in moulding oneself to become better citizens. He emphasized on the contribution and role of leadership at all levels. 

In his address to the gathering, Our Chairman Sir, Komariah motivated the students to become selfless torch bearers of the school. He was of the view that “Be prepared for the worse and the best will follow.” The spectacular ceremony concluded with the Head Boy proposing Vote of Thanks. Smiling and jubilant, the school community left the venue with a vow to continue the rich DPS legacy and reach greater landmarks.
