Mahbubnagar: The immersion of Ganesh idol installed at police headquarters was carried out on a grand note on Wednesday where police officials along with their families took part in the procession and bid adieu to the Lord.

While district SP Rema Rajeshwari captured the entire event on her camera and wished the families of police a happy and peaceful life, Additional SP N Venkateshwarlu, inspectors Dilip and Raghava Rao and police staff participated in the celebrations. DSP G Giri Babu, Ganesh committee members Rayala Ramesh, Srisailam, Imran, Narsimhulu and other staff monitored the procession.

Meanwhile, the immersion of idols was carried out across the district on the grand note. After nine days of special pujas, the idols were being sent for immersion. The authorities concerned have made elaborate arrangements, including special arrangements at immersion points on Krishna riverbank and Hanwada Pedda Cheruvu.

Meanwhile, many devotees have expressed their disappointment over imposing restriction on the use of high-decibel DJs this year. Excise Minister Srinivas Goud also participated in immersion programme held at Mahbubnagar on Wednesday.
