50 nominations for LS, 319 for assembly seats filed

Kakinada: In total, 50 candidates for three Parliamentary constituencies and 319 for assembly have filed nominations in East Godavari district, said District Collector Kartikeya Mishra.

Addressing the media at collectorate on Monday evening, the collector said that 20 candidates for Kakinada parliamentary constituency, 13 for Amalapuram, and 17 for Rajamahendravaram filed their nominations. For assembly constituencies 182 candidates filed their nominations on Monday, totalling 319 in 19 constituencies in the district.

The collector also said that the scrutiny of nominations will be taken up on Tuesday. And the withdrawals are permitted up to 3 pm of 28th of this month. On MLC vote counting, he said that counting will take place at Rangaraya Medical college premises in Kakinada and the process will start at 8 am on Tuesday.

Collector also said that the counting of votes will be lengthy process as 46 candidates are in fray and necessary arrangements were made to continue the counting process without any break.
