AP Formation Day fete at CCVA in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The AP Formation Day was fondly celebrated at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) here on Thursday.

Dr Mandali Buddha Prasad, Former Deputy Speaker, attended as distinguished guest and stressed the need of rededication of the Andhras to achieve the goals set on the first Andhra Pradesh Formation Day.

Dr Movva Srinivasa Reddy, Associate Professor, Department of History, Andhra Loyola College delivered his keynote address covering the various stages and phases of the separate Andhra State movement which began in the 1910s and continued up to 1953 followed by formation of AP state on 1st November 1956 and highlighted various anecdotes connected to it.

Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, CCVA, coordinated the programme. Jelly Wilson, former MLC, Sandeep Mandava and Deepa Balasubramanian of Malaxmi group, Dr Manorama Singh, Golla Narayana Rao, Dr Gumma Sambasiva Rao, Koneru Prasad, T S Reddy, K Srinadh Reddy and students from Andhra Loyola College were present.
