Bank manager held over funds misuse case in West Godavari district

Attili: The police have arrested a bank manager of Chaitanya Godavari Grameena bank over funds misuse case on Monday.

According to the police, P Rama Surya Kiran Kumar who worked as branch manager at Tirupatipuram village in Attili Mandal has misused Rs 37 lakh and cheated the bank.

He created 11 joint liability groups with farmers aadhaar cards and released crop loan of Rs 3 lakh to each group and collected Rs 33 lakh and another Rs 4 lakh in the name of 8 others with forgery signatures of farmers and agriculture board officer.

By creating fake records, Krian Kumar used Rs 37 lakh for his purpose. The incident came into light when the new branch manager issued notice to the farmers as there was no repayment.

The bank higher officials have inquired about the issue, and Kiran Kumar was found guilty of misuse of bank funds and lodged a complaint with the Attili police station on September 14, 2019. On receiving the information, the police registered a case, arrested the accused and produced him before Tanuku court.
