BJP leaders fume over overflowing drains

Kakinada: The BJP leaders expressed their concern over the condition of drains in some parts of smart city. According to BJP state committee member P Ravikiran, a team of party leaders, on a complaint from Ramakrishnaraopeta over the pathetic sanitary conditions on Monday,visited the areas and found the drains overflowing and in some areas lack of desilting for smooth flow of drain water.

During the visit, the BJP leaders noticed that the condition of drains in several areas in the city resembles the same condition. If this is the situation now, what would be condition of sanitation in the coming rainy season, they questioned.

The BJP leaders demanded that the municipal authorities act swiftly and improve the condition of drains and avert submerging of areas in the rainy season there by averting the spread of viral diseases.
