Brainstorming session held on circular economy
Anantapur: APPCB Chairman Dr P Krishnaiah chaired a brainstorming session on Andhra Pradesh Circular Economy and Waste Recycling Policy (4.0) 2025–2030 at Anantapur Collectorate on Friday. Participants included officials from cement, steel, tyre pyrolysis, plastic recycling units, municipal authorities, and industries.
District Collector O Anand stressed recycling all municipal solid waste via co-processing in cement kilns. He announced State and District-level Task Forces for policy implementation and proposed using Tadipatri’s granite and slab polishing waste as cement raw material post-testing.
Dr Krishnaiah declared Andhra Pradesh the first State to adopt a comprehensive Circular Economy model. Guided by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the policy focuses on converting waste into resources through public participation and inter-departmental coordination. It aims to generate large-scale employment in district-level waste management and recycling.
