Kurnool: Municipal commissioner P Vishwanath called upon every citizen to contribute actively towards the creation of a drug-free society. As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the commissioner administered an oath to corporation employees and staff members at Kondareddy Buruju on Tuesday, urging collective responsibility in building communities free from narcotic substances.

Speaking on the occasion, commissioner Vishwanath described the campaign, launched under the aegis of the Union ministry of social Justice and empowerment, as a highly impactful national initiative.

He stated that the primary objective of the programme is to create widespread awareness among the public and students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to identify individuals trapped in addiction so they can be rehabilitated. He emphasised that protecting youth from the influence of intoxicants is crucial to safeguarding the nation’s future.

The commissioner appealed to youngsters and students to stay away from narcotic substances and addictive habits, noting that a healthy and drug-free youth population is essential for the country’s progress.
