Chittoor: Collector N B Guptha allots site for district library building

Chittoor: District Collector N B Guptha has allocated site for constructing district library building which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore. It may be noted that the 40-year-old district library building was demolished two years ago under road expansion drive in city. Consequently, the District Library was shifted to remote location of the city where readers are facing hardships to make use the building.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday ,Udayakumar, Secretary, District Grandhalaya Samstha said that a project report was submitted to Chittoor Tahsildar for allotting the required site for constructing district library building near old Collectorate in

Chittoor and there is no shortage of funds for constructing the building.

He said that the employees of the libraries were attending to their duties.
