Chittoor : Sanitation workers demand job security

Threaten indefinite strike from July 1 their demands including regularisation of services of contract and outsourced staff are not met by the govt 

Chittoor : AP Municipal Workers Union general secretary J Ramachandraiah demanded the government to regularise the services of all outsourced and contract sanitation workers with immediate effect . He was participating in the protest organised by AITUC at the collectorate here against the apathy of the state government in resolving the long-pending demands of sanitation workers of various urban local bodies (ULBs) on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramachadraiah regretted that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has failed to keep up his promise of regularising the services of outsourced and contract employees working in municipalities and municipal corporations.

He warned that all the sanitation workers in the district would resort to indefinite strike from July 1 onwards if the government failed to concede the demands of the contract and sanitation workers by June 29. District CPI secretary S Nagarajan explained the woes of sanitation workers . AITUC leaders Mani Vijayakumar, Chandra and others were present . The leaders then submitted a memorandum to P Rajasekhar, district revenue officer, at the collectorate on their demands.
