Collector makes surprise visit to government boys hostel

Chittoor: District Collector N Bharath Gupta has instructed the Deputy Director of Social Welfare to provide sleeping cots to the inmates of the Balayogi Boys Residential Hostel in Puthalapattu and required furniture in the classrooms of social welfare schools at the earliest.

The Collector made a surprise visit to residential hostel in Puthalapattu on Thursday and enquired with them about the facilities being provide to them. He asked several questions to students pertaining to subjects to know the teaching standards in school.

Many students gave correct answers for the Collector's queries. Gupta inspected all the portions of the social welfare hostel. Speaking to the boys of the hostel, the Collector exhorted them to meet the expectations of the government and parents.

Responding to a request from hostel boys, he instructed Deputy Director (Social Welfare) to provide sleeping cots. Later, he ate mid-day meal along with the boys in the hostel. DD (Social Welfare) Vijayakumar, Principal Bhaskara Babu, teachers Jyothi, Manjula and others were present.
