Collector visits thermal plant-hit village

Nellore: District Collector MV Seshagiri Babu visited thermal plant affected SC Colony in Nelaturu village in Muthukur mandal on Thursday and enquired with the local people about the problems being faced by them.

Babu assured them that administration would provide drinking water and would shift them to other place as part of rehabilitation programme shortly. Villagers complained to the Collector that they were receiving drinking water tankers earlier and stopped recently.

They brought to the notice of the Collector that crops are being damaged with ash from the thermal plants and agriculture officials explained that it was due to ash that obstructs photosynthesis process.

The Collector informed them that they were considering two places for relocation and shortly finalise one place. RDO Chinni Krishna, Joint Director of Agriculture Sivanarayana, local revenue officials accompanied the Collector.
