Contain criminals ahead of polls, SP tells cops in Guntur

Guntur: Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao directed the officials to take steps to conduct general elections peacefully and instructed the officials to step up vigilance on the movements of the suspects and anti-social elements to check untoward incidents.

He addressed a meeting at the DPO in Guntur city on Sunday on the occasion of ensuing elections.

He directed the officials to take steps to implement the election code of conduct strictly and instructed them to visit villages and enquire about the situation in the villages.

He asked them to continue vigilance on the movements of the anti-social elements and persons moving with the weapons and continue vehicle checking.

He asked them to keep vigilance on the belt shops and liquor shops.

Guntur urban district police officials were present.
