Cricket betting organisers arrested

Nellore: Santhapeta police arrested five persons, who were organising cricket betting in a lodge at AT Agraharam in the city on Friday. Police raided the lodge and seized Rs 3.28 lakh cash and five mobile phones from them.

The accused were identified as D Masthanaiah, G Sunil Kumar, K Madhu, Raghurami Reddy, and V Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy. Addressing the media at Santhapeta Police Station here on Friday, Nellore city In-Charge DSP Mariyadas said that the Santhapeta police raided the lodge on a tip-off.

Sandeep Joshi from Hyderabad City was the main bookie and the police seized cash and mobile phones from the accused. Santhapeta Circle Inspector Ramulu Naik and others were present.
