Disciplinary action against 25 APSPDCL staff for misconduct

Tirupati: APSPDCL has initiated disciplinary action against 25 officials and staff for negligence, misconduct and unauthorized work in the discharge of their official duties.

APSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Siva Sankar Lotheti issued orders on Tuesday, following detection of various irregularities across several circles of the company.

The employees are found to have indulged in corruption, irregularities in recording high tension service readings, unauthorized execution of works and failure to follow prescribed procedures in consumer and network related activities.

The action covers personnel from multiple cadres, including executive engineers, deputy executive engineers, assistant executive / assistant engineers, junior engineers, account officers, line inspectors, line men, assistant line men and an energy assistant.

In the Tirupati Circle, Deputy Executive Engineer G Sai Sankar and Assistant Executive Engineer G Vishwanatham deprived of two increments for carrying out unauthorized works.

Executive Engineer K Srinivasa Murthy, Deputy Executive Engineer C Chinnappa, Assistant Engineer S Hema Chandrudu, Line Inspector M Sharath Babu and Line Man S R Gopal were penalized for unauthorized line changes.

In another case, Deputy Executive Engineer C Vijaya Venkatesh, Line Man B Sekhar, Assistant Line Man K Suresh and Junior Line Man Grade 2 T Bhagya Raj served charge orders for corruption related allegations.

In the Kurnool Circle, Senior Accounts Officer J Chinna Raghavulu has been denied promotion for six months for reading irregularities, while Deputy Executive Engineers V V Mohan Kumar and A Rajamohan Reddy and Junior Accounts Officer K Subramanyam Setty deprived of one or two increments.

Assistant Accounts Officer G Bala Chowdaraiah has been asked to explain negligence in a service name change. Cases in Kadapa, Sri Sathya Sai, Anantapur and Chittoor Circles resulted in suspensions and show cause notices for unauthorized line changes, transformer installation and misuse of powers in agricultural connections.
