Elaborate arrangements in place for Independence-Day fete: Joint Collector

Visakhapatnam: Joint Collector L Shiva Shankar has directed the authorities of various departments to make necessary arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day at police barracks on a grand-scale.

Addressing officials at a meeting here on Sunday, the Joint Collector said there should be no room for any lapses. He suggested use of water proof tents to avoid water stagnation in case of rains.

The Joint Collector directed the authorities concerned to ensure extending invitation to freedom fighters for the function. Officials from different departments including police officials attended the meeting which was held at the police barracks. Shiva Shankar asked the DEO to look after the cultural activities without any interruption.
