Eluru: Staff participate in Hundi counting by wearing masks

Eluru: News of Coronavirus presence in the State has alerted people as they began to take preventive measures like washing hands and wearing facial masks.

At the Hundi counting programme held at the famous Dwaraka Tirumala temple of Lord Venkateshwara here on Friday, about 200 'servants' and staff participated in counting by wearing masks as foreigners also offered for Hundi.

The Coronavirus scare has really forced them to wear masks during entire counting of the Hundi collections.

The Temple Executive Officer, D Peddiraju informed that for 44 days, the total Hundi collections amounted to Rs 3,07,71,977 in cash.

While gold weighing 790 grams was counted, the devotees offered silver weighing 8.565 kg. Many foreign currency notes were also found during counting, he added.
