Eye donation awareness programme held in Kakinada

Kakinada: An awareness programme on eye (cornea) donation was organized at East Godavari sports authority grounds jointly by East Godavari Blindness Eradication Society and Badam Balakrishna Eye Bank on Friday as part of National Eye Donation Fortnightly

Speaking on this occasion, chairman of Eye Bank Dr Ravula Sriram sought public support in eradication of blindness in East Godavari.

Dr Sriram asked the public to come out of blind beliefs and donate eyes (cornea) of dead people within six hours of demise to provide eye site to others. In this connection, the eye bank staff disclosed two phone numbers which can be contacted. The mobile numbers are 99897 99456 and 9490710666 which can be contacted round the clock.
