Former intelligence chief of Andhra Pradesh AB Venkateswara Rao approached the CAT (Central Administrative Tribunal), over his suspension. DGP submitted a report that the former intelligence chief was involved in irregularities in the purchase of surveillance equipment. The AP government has said that disciplinary action is being taken to that extent directing him not to leave the headquarters of Vijayawada without government permission during the suspension.

AB Venkateswara Rao was the Intelligence Chief during the previous TDP government while he transferred by Election Commission from the post before the last assembly elections following the complaint of YSRCP.
