Globe-totter's memorable trip to Rajahmahendravaram
Rajamahedravaram: Globe-totter and home-maker from Hyderabad Nomula Narmada Reddy had a busy three-days recently participating in the International Women's Day celebrations by the Alliance Club of Rajahmundry, attending the 92nd anniversary of 'Praja Patrika' and interacting with member of Hasam Club.
She and her husband Indra Reddy were warmly felicitated by the three organisations for their unique achievement of going round 154 countries, along with their family members.
Besides, the couple had interesting meeting with a nail artist Ravi Palasa, a 92-year-old doctor Peddinti Seetharama Bhargav, who treats 300 patients a day free of cost, and Katragadda Lakshminarasimha Rao (82), a poet-writer who has read 15,000 books, prepared CDs of his experience and sent them free to interested persons.
He had read Narmada Reddy's book 'Agadu Maa Prayanamu' (travelogue) on her experiences during world-wide trips.
During the IWD celebrations the club members including Governor Koyyana Kumari was among those who honoured Narmada and Indra Reddy with a shawl and a commendation.
Padma Bheemesh, president, Dr Ch Venkateswara Rao, Saroja Rao, zone chair person Padmasri, general secretary Jayasri, treasurer Pujita, representatives Shirisha, Satish, Gopi, Vanam Srinivas, Padma Rajesh, Gopi, Suma, Shanti, Prasanna, Sarveswara Rao were also present.
At the anniversary of 'Praja Patrika, Narmada was praised for going round the Seven Wonders of the World, besides her social services, participation in national shuttle badminton evens and singing. Her book 'Agadu Maa Prayanam' was adjudged the best in the tourist category.
Narmada told The Hans India that her interaction with Ravi Palasa was 'unforgettable.
He prepared a nail art work portraying Lord Ganesha. The figure was more interesting as it incorporated my name Narmada.
She said another memorable experience was visiting the public library in the town and its museum that has preserved the pen (ganta in local parlance) used by Nannayya.
Her visit to ZP High School impressed them and Indra Reddy promised to provide free professional education to the meritorious among them.
