Ongole: The employees of various banks under the United Forum of Bank Unions celebrated the golden jubilee of nationalisation of banks, at the Andhra Bank main branch in Ongole on Friday.

The leaders from various unions said that the then Prime Minister thought to bring the services of the banks to the common man and nationalised them, but the present government is trying to force banks to serve only to corporate companies like Adani and Ambani by limiting their number to five or six.

They said that with the proposed reforms and mergers, the government banks will be forced far from the reach of common people and reduce the purchase capacity and employment opportunities.

The bank unions' leaders V Ramachandra Rao, Rajesh Khanna, Rajeev, A Venugopal, C Sobhan Babu, Venkateswarlu, PK Rajeswara Rao, Srinivas, Narendra, U Venugopal, Krishna Reddy and others also participated in the programme.
