Guntur: Street vendors to get identity cards

Guntur: Guntur Municipal Corporation will give identity cards to the street vendors, according to GMC Deputy Commissioner D Srinivasa Rao.

Addressing the hawkers in the GMC Council Hall on Thursday, he recalled that the Supreme Court gave a directive for the protection of rights of the street vendors and added that as per an Act, they have set up green and red zones.

Traffic Circle Inspector Vinayak urged the traders to do their business without causing inconvenience to the commuters.

GMC officials were also present on the occasion.
