Guntur: World Wetlands Day celebrations held

Guntur: World Wetlands Day was observed at a programme held at Uppalapadu Birds Resort in Pedakakani mandal of Guntur district on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Conservator of Forests, Guntur district P Srinivasa Sastry explained significance of World Wetlands Day. Later, they distributed prizes to the winners in the essay-writing, debate, quiz and painting competitions. Also, they released fishlings in the water for feed to the birds at Uppalapadu. District forest officer N Ramachandra Rao, Anil (Eco Development Committee) Uppalapadu, participated in the programme.
