Nagara Vanam at Pampanur is all set for inauguration in Anantapur

Anantapur: The Nagara Vanam, an eco-tourist park conceived by the Forest department with a view to make people and students environmental conscious and create love for trees and ecology, at Pampanur village is all set for inauguration in the first week of September.

It is also aimed that people will enjoy the beauties of nature. Nagara Vanams in Rayadurgam and Hindupur have already been inaugurated while the one at Kalyandurg and Puttaparthi are on progress. Each Nagara Vanam is established at a cost f Rs 1 crore.

Located at Pampanur 18 km from Anantapur is an integrated project with a deer park, mountain trekking, Amphi-theatre, yoga centre, volleyball and shuttle court and a 7-km Nature camp tour within the park vicinity with transport facility to go around the forest to view its pristine beauty.

These parks are attracting school children as well as tourists.One of the highlights of the park is a separate trekking zone for youth. Roads have been laid throughout the forest area connecting the trekking mountain on which there is a proposal to build watch tower where a telescopic binoculars will be installed to watch the scenic beauty of the valley on either side of the mountain.

For tourists from outside and even for the people of the district it is a feast to the eyes as such a nature park in a drought-stricken land is rare. In addition to volley ball and shuttle courts, there is also a food court.

DFO A Chandrasekhar said to The Hans India that the eco-tourism parks coming at different parts of the district can attract tourists. The park will have an LED screen to entertain visitors with movies.
