National Naturopathy Day celebrated
Vijayawada: The 8th National Naturopathy Day was celebrated with reverence and enthusiasm at Dr Manthena Satyanarayana Raju Arogyalayam, Amaravati, honouring Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy in promoting Naturopathy. As part of the celebrations, statues of five eminent naturopaths were unveiled in the Ashram premises by their family members.
The distinguished naturopaths honoured were Dr Vegiraju Krishnam Raju, Dr Balijepalli Venkata Rao, Dr Vijayalakshmi, Dr Vegiraju Venkata Rama Raju, Dr Dronamraju Venkatachalapathi Sharma, and Manthena Rama Raju.
During the meeting that followed, the families of the revered naturopaths and donors recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s commitment to Naturopathy and the role played by these five stalwarts in advancing the discipline.
They stressed the growing importance of natural healing systems in modern lifestyles and praised the Ashram for keeping the tradition alive.
Speakers lauded Dr Manthena Satyanarayana Raju for shaping the Arogyalayam in alignment with Gandhian principles and the vision of the honoured naturopaths. They said that the Ashram has become a beacon of hope by making Naturopathy accessible to Telugu-speaking communities and the underprivileged.
