No need for misconceptions over plasma Therapy: Andhra minister Alla Nani

Andhra Pradesh health minister Alla Nani said that the state government was taking all necessary steps for the containment of Coronavirus. He held a review meeting with officials on coronavirus in Nellore on Thursday and discussed over the services rendered in the hospitals and the facilities required. Later, Minister Alla Nani told the media that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was constantly reviewing the situation and giving instructions.

Minister Alla Nani clarified that the highest number of coronavirus tests are being conducted in the state with the aim to contain the dreadful virus. "We are providing medical services with the highest number of tests with a recovery rate of approximately 65 per cent," the minister said. He said that the hospitals are providing better facilities and services to victims with an amount of Rs. 350 crore.

He said there was no need for people to worry about the coronavirus and there were no myths about plasma therapy. He called on those who have recovered from the coronavirus to come forward for donating plasma to all those who are eligible. We are also giving an incentive of Rs 5,000 to those who donate plasma. The people were asked on the occasion to abide by the coronavirus rules and cooperate with the government. The minister said action would be taken after receiving the report on the Swarna Palace fire accident.

Meanwhile, during the last 24 hours, 55,692 people were tested for coronavirus and 9996 persons tested positive which brings the total number of coronavirus cases across the state to 2,64,142. While in the past 24 hours alone, 82 people have died from coronavirus taking the death toll 2378. With a total of 2,64,142 positive cases in the state, 1,70,924 have been discharged and 90,840 are currently being treated at various hospitals.
