Ongole : Govt aims to provide house to the poor says Ministers

Ongole : The government aims to provide housing plots and construct houses for the poor people in the state, announced Minister for Energy, Environment, Forests, Science and Technology Balineni Srinivasa Reddy.

Education Minister Audimulapu Suresh said that the government is providing housing plots to 30.75 lakh beneficiaries with an expenditure of Rs 26,535 crore. The ministers participated in the YSR Jagananna Illa Pattalu, distribution of housing plots programme individually at Ongole, Chirala, and Yerragondapalem on Friday.

Speaking at the TIDCO G+3 flats distribution programme at the Spandana Hall in Collectorate, housing plots distribution at Gundayapalem in Ongole, and later at Chirala and Addanki, Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said that the Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the housing programme as part of the Navaratnalu promised in the manifesto.

He said that about 30 lakh people are receiving the housing plots throughout the state. He advised that those who are eligible, but didn't receive the housing plot, can apply for them. He said that the government is making sure that all government benefits reach the eligible through the secretariat system.

Speaking at the Millampalli village in Yerragondapalem constituency, Audimulapu Suresh said that the Chief Minister also wants to construct 28.30 lakh houses with an expenditure of Rs 5,0940 crores and taking initiative for the construction of 15.60 lakh houses in the first phase. He explained that 12,622 beneficiaries would receive plots in the constituency.

The collector Dr Pola Bhaskara, speaking at Ongole said that the government is distributing the TIDCO houses for free to the beneficiaries. He announced that about 84,000 people will receive the benefits under the housing scheme, but the distribution of plots to 24,000 of them was halted due to court cases.
