Palnadu region peaceful, says Guntur range IG

Guntur: South Coastal Zone Guntur range Inspector General of Police Vineet Brijlal made it clear that after announcement of the recent election results, there have been no murders in Palnadu region.

He said, during the first three months in 2014, three murder cases were registered in Palnadu, during the corresponding period in 2019, three attempt to murder cases were registered.

The IG addressed a press conference in Palandu region in the backdrop of TDP leaders' criticism that there is no law and order in Home Minister's native district. He said the police officials were registering cases as soon as they receive any complaint over phone and WhatsApp, They were resolving issues based on petitions received during Spandana programme.

He said that they had opened suspect sheets against 36 persons and took necessary steps to avoid untoward incidents. He said situation in Palandu region is peaceful and urged the leaders of political parties not to create any law and order problem. He warned that if anybody tried to create law and order problem, the police will take stern action against them. Guntur rural SP R Jaya Lakshmi was also present.
