Guntur: Police took CPI state assistant secretary and AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association honourary president Muppalla Nageswara Rao into custody on Wednesday and shifted him to Mangalagiri police station. The CPI decided to conduct the Chalo Assembly programme on June 17 to register their protest for allotting Rs.200 crore in the budget to do justice to the AgriGold customers.

Muppalla Nageswara Rao felt that this is not enough and gave a call for conducting Chalo Assembly programme. The police took him into custody in the backdrop of the State Assembly Budget session and foiled the programme. Nageswara Rao alleged that the YSRCP government is supporting AgriGold Company management.
