Kadapa: Senior TDP leader and Proddatur in-charge N Varadarajulu Reddy has demanded that the State government conduct an inquiry into various contract works taken up by Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh in the district.

Addressing a press conference at Proddatur on Friday, he alleged that C M Ramesh was responsible for looting crores of public money by indulging in irregularities related to the contracts works initiated by him in the district.

He said Ramesh was paid Rs 4,000 crore as mobilisation advance under various projects. Describing Ramesh as a political broker, Varadarajulu Reddy alleged that the Rajya Sabha member had no specific political agenda as he was always concentrating on how to loot public money.

Finding fault with party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu for making him member of Rajya Sabha for the second time, Varadarajulu Reddy regretted that Naidu ignored the advice of party leaders on the issue. "C M Ramesh is not a politician, he is a political broker.

He shifts his loyalties towards those in power to protect his properties," the senior TDP leader said.

He said Chandrababu Naidu committed a big mistake by making C M Ramesh as a Rajya Sabha member for the second time despite party leaders advising him against taking such a decision.
