Rajamahendravaram: Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has demanded that the State Election Commission (SEC) cancel the completed nominations and start nomination process again as the ruling party perpetrated violence in many places in the State.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said the ruling party prevented Opposition party candidates from filing nominations and resorted to violence creating panic among the contesting candidates.

He alleged that the police also supported the ruling party. With the help of police, the ruling party leaders forcibly pulled the nomination papers from Opposition party candidates.

The Jana Sena Party will report the incidents to Union Minister of Home Affairs and Election Commission of India.

Pawan regretted that the SEC failed to take any action on those who attacked Opposition candidates. He said the party was getting reports on officials who worked for ruling party in nomination process and the lists will be sent to the Union government also. The JSP will go to court of law about the completed nomination process, he warned.

He said the JSP would not remain a mere spectator if the ruling party resorts to violence against the Opposition candidates. He regretted that the SEC could not prevent violence during the filing of nomination papers and take action against erring officials.

He pointed out that the JSP had earlier pointed out that if the YSRCP comes to power the State would only witness violence and the development would come to a standstill.
