RMC receives national water award

Rajamahendravaram: The Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) has secured the fourth rank nationally in the ‘Jal Sanchay-Jan Bhagidari’ category at the 6th National Water Awards-2024, announced by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. RMC Commissioner Rahul Meena received the prestigious award from the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Chandrakant Raghunath Patil, at the award ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday. The Commissioner expressed pride that the water conservation works undertaken by the RMC have received national recognition.

He revealed that the RMC achieved this feat by completing a total of 13,298 water conservation works under the central government’s initiative. The award comes with a cash prize of Rs 2 crore for this category. He lauded the commendable role played by the Municipal Engineering and Planning officials and staff in achieving this honour. EE MVK Madhavi and AE V Venkatesh participated in the ceremony.
