Srikakulam: IRCS uses loud speaker to create awareness on Covid-19

An IRCS volunteer creating awareness among farm workers on Covid-19 preventive measures

Srikakulam: Indian Red-Cross Society (IRCS), Srikakulam district wing, is creating awareness among people in rural areas on Covid-19 preventive measures through public address system. In the wake of rampant spreading of corona positive cases among masses in the district, IRCS launched awareness campaign through public address system on top of IRCS vehicles.

The IRCS volunteers are also using hand mikes and re-chargeable battery mikes for this purpose. They are also pasting wall posters in several villages containing Covid preventive measures. The volunteers are creating awareness among farmers and farm workers in the fields in the wake of monsoon in kharif season.

The IRCS staff has covered so far in Kallepalli, Killipalem, Paradesipalem, Sadupeta, Peddaganagallapeta, Reddykillipalem and several other villages in Srikakulam rural mandal through public address system. They are creating awareness on wearing of masks, hands washing with soap, frequent use of sanitizers, physical distance and stop spitting in public places for prevention of further spreading of positive cases in the district. "Covid reached to mass level in the district and prevention is the only measure at this juncture. We are making concrete efforts to create awareness on precautions among people," IRCS district chairman P Jagan Mohan Rao said.
