The Telugu Desam Party leaders Achchennaidu, Bachchula Arjunudu and Buddha Venkanna have met with state governor Biswabhushan Harichandan on Wednesday morning. The leaders have complained to the governor about the decrease of the reservations for Backward Castes in the upcoming local body elections. They alleged that the government has taken a unilateral decision over the reservations.

The TDP leaders want the government to file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court to protect the 34 per cent reservation for the BC's.

Earlier, the high court has cancelled the 59.95 reservations in the local body proposed by the YSRCP government and ordered to come up with a proposal on the reservations within a month. However, the government is going ahead for the elections as per the high court verdict not exceeding the 50 per cent reservations.
