Tirupati: Muslims rally against CAA, NPR, NRC

Tirupati: The members of the Muslim community on Wednesday took out a massive rally in the pilgrim city against the Citizenship Amendment Act, National Population Register (NPR) and National Register of Citizens (NRC).

Holding national flag, banners and placards against CAA, NPR and NRC, the Muslims marched through the main roads raising slogans demanding the Centre to withdraw CAA immediately. Members of the minority community from the city and also neighbouring towns took part in the protest rally which was held without involvement of any political parties or organisations.

Revealing their strong opposition to CAA, many participants said that the CAA was against the Constitution as there is no scope for giving citizenship based on the religion. They in one voice demanded the NDA government to rollback CAA, NPR and NCR and stop divisive politics.
