Tirupati: Red sander woodcutters attack police, fire opened in air

Tirupathi: Police open fire in air after red sanders woodcutters attack them on Friday morning near at Kalyani Dam forest in Chittoor District, 20 Km from here. According to task force police, while cops were combing for smugglers in forest the incident took place. When few TN Smugglers saw the task force cops immediately they pelleted stones on police. In the situation, task force Police open one round fire in air for defending themselves.

A task force constable was injured in the incident.

Additional police force reached the incident spot and search operation is on.
