Vijayawada: Jagananna Vidya Kanuka

Vijayawada : AP Education Department Principal Secretary Prakash on Saturday inspected the quality of school bags and shoes in Delhi which were ordered by the state government for the distribution to students studying in the government schools under the Jagananna Vidya Kanuka.

Keeping in view of the criticism faced by the government this academic year for supplying poor quality of school bags and shoes, the principal secretary decided to personally check the quality and visited the manufacturing companies in Delhi.

He made surprise check and sent nine bags and nine pairs of shoes for quality check. As part of Jagananna Vidya Kanuka, the state government is supplying three pairs of uniform, text books, note books, work books, shoes, two pairs of socks, belt, pictorial and Oxford dictionaries along with a bag to students.

Praveen visited the XO Foot Wear Private Limited Company in Delhi and spoke to the staff and the management. He made it clear the company would be black listed if the quality of schools bags is poor and they supply the defective bags.

He checked the durability, quality of the bag cloth, zips, shoulder strip etc., by putting a weight of 12 kg in a bag and whether it can withstand the weight of the books. Some bags were randomly taken and 9 bags were selected and sent to Quality Control of India for quality testing.
