Visakhapatnam: Former minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu on Friday said that the ACB officials failed to follow protocol while arresting the former TDP minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu.

Addressing media at TDP office here, he alleged that the YSRCP leaders campaigned on social media about the possible arrest of Atchannaidu on Thursday night itself.

"On Friday, he was arrested at his residence. Is it not a planned conspiracy," Ayyanna Patrudu questioned?

He said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has no right to speak about corruption as BCs were completely neglected and suppressed during YSRCP rule.

So far, the former minister said none of the allegations levelled against the TDP were proven. "Why don't they investigate the government's new sand policy and house sites distribution which will surely bring out the true colour of the government," he stated and alleged that 'fraction politics' is now witnessed in the state.

Visakhapatnam South Constituency MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar said that former Minister and TDP deputy floor leader Kinjarapu Atchannaidu was targeted fearing that the government failures would be pointed out in the ensuing Assembly session.

West constituency MLA P G V R Naidu said the government was indulged in an arrest-spree against those who bring the lapses to the fore.

East constituency MLA V Ramakrishna Babu, former MLA Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, among others were present.

Later, the TDP leaders walked as a mark of protest from the party office to the GVMC Gandhi statue.
