Update: 2020-02-24 01:56 IST

Visakhapatnam: All India State Bank of India Staff Federation general secretary Sanjeev Kumar Bandlish has said that the federation will intensify its stir from April 1 if the bank employees' problems remain unresolved.

Addressing media at Siripuram SBI administration office here on Sunday, he said the banking system was facing a severe crisis due to new economic policies and depositors were also impacted due to government policies as they weaken the banking sector.

Stating the wage amendment has been pending since November 2017, he said they would intensify their protest on March 11, 12 and 13. If the Centre failed to respond, Sanjeev Kumar added the federation would go for an indefinite strike from April 1 until their demands are met.

The conference was attended by vice-president A Sushma.
