Soon after getting permission from SP B Rajakumari, V Purna Chandrasekhar of Maruvada village in Bondapalli mandal, hired some lorries out of his own funds to make them reach the border of Odisha. On Monday and Tuesday he picked up hundreds of migrant labourers entering Vizianagaram district and dropped them at Sunki, Kuneru, which are inter-state check-posts between Andhra and Odisha.

As soon as these labourers entered Vizianagaram district at VT Agraharam, they were received by V Purna Chandrasekhar, who hired a few lorries to carry the migrant labourers to the State border. He spent his own money to hire lorries to make them reach the border which is 140 km from here. The labourers were also provided food, water and masks. K Ram Singh of Chhattisgarh, who was coming from Vijayawada by walk, said, "I have been walking for the past 15 days and expect that it would take 20 more days to reach my destination. I am thankful to these people who helped us a lot. This is a big help for me."

The police under the supervision of SP Rajakumari are supplying food packets and water bottles to the workers all the way in Vizianagaram district.

Purna Chandrasekhar, who is in the service for two days, said, "It's very sad to see hundreds of labourers walking on roads without even footwear. So I want to spend some money and hired 10 lorries to drop them at the interstate border. From there they have to walk again. Anyhow it's very painful to see them."
